Welcome!
Dear Women’s Community League Friends,
This is an amazing organization! I am proud to be a member of the WCL – a group of the talented, resourceful, strong women. We are connected through a common purpose: to provide social, educational, and philanthropic benefits to the Weston Community. Our force of dedicated volunteers has reached out to young and old, individuals, families, and groups for one hundred years. You are our ambassadors. Please renew now and urge others to join!
I hope that you’ve had a chance to attend some WCL events this month. The Fall “Opening Coffee” was a spectacular success. A perfect fall day at Jan’s house with a great turnout demonstrating that the WCL is strong! A large audience enjoyed the Speaker Series Event at Weston Golf Club with guest author Dawn Davis. Her uplifting message offered steps to manage internal stress and chaos.
The WCL’s lunches at the Council on Aging begin on Thursday, October 3rd. We can’t replace the Barn Café, but join us to socialize and grab a lunch between 11-1 downstairs at the Community Center. We hope to repeat this event on the first Thursday of each month if there is interest. On October 10th, the Garden Club Event will feature a taste of Persian herbs and foods. Everyone please join us to welcome new Garden Club President Mojgan Brumby!
Please save the date for two upcoming Centennial Events. The Champagne Centennial Gala is November 16th. This event promises to be a wonderful celebration of our organization. Preparations are already underway for the Second Winter Festival on December 8 from 2:30-5:15 p.m.
I’ll end this letter with a simple request...Engage!
Volunteer, join a committee (Winter Festival, Centennial Gala, WCL/COA Luncheon, etc.), attend an event or just reach out. The WCL is stronger because of you . . . our amazing members.
I'd love to hear from you.
Best,
Regina Hajjar
WCL President 2018-2020
